About locusXact
locusXact was set up by Directors Chris Booker and Adrian Sewell to build on the success of the Bluebell Staff Attack and Critical Messaging solutions.
Originally Founded in 2010 by Chris Booker and Mike Gloster, for over a decade Bluebell Communication Systems designed and delivered its range of staff attack systems to the market. Chris and Mike had been CEO and Technical Director respectively at Blick Communications, later Stanley Security where they led the significant growth of the Care Communications Division with manufacturing and delivery organised by Operations Director, Adrian Sewell. Mike is considered somewhat a ‘founding Father’ of radiopaging having developed the world’s first on-site alphanumeric radio pager. When the trio left Stanley, its systems were used by over 50% of UK hospitals, care homes and mental health facilities of all types including Broadmoor and Rampton High Secure Hospitals.
As new technology became available for wireless communication, Chris and Mike saw exciting opportunities for a more software driven and lower cost systems integrating Infra-red signaling and NFC tag technology with two-way wireless messaging. They decided to provide their own solutions to the market through their Bluebell brand and partnered with Adrian through his company Direct Assembly Solutions to get products manufactured locally and achieve a low carbon footprint.
In the early days of development, Chris and Mike worked closely with a local care home, part of the Sanctuary Care Group, where the early systems were tested and improved in conjunction with care staff and business management. The resulting systems were rolled out to the UK market through key partners, Aidcall (part of Legrand Electric), KAM Systems and Stanley Security.
In 2021 Bluebell implemented a planned change to their business structure and this led to Adrian Sewell joining Chris Booker to set up locusXact to continue to design and manufacture in Exeter in Devon and to focus on providing products for secure safety-critical staff alarm systems in Healthcare, Justice, Industry & Commerce and Lone Worker applications across the UK and in Europe.
